Raw textile

Booger is a material originally used for the special effect make up, as it is very similar to human skin. It is a mixture of gelatin, water and glycerin. It is a kind of material which has the qualities both of object and textile. It is in- between shape and non-shape, soft and hard. The design is represented the relation to human body.

All the textiles are based on structures. I would like to give different kinds of structures to the booger in order to ‘textilize’ the booger. Based on the (re)constructible character of the booger I can easily record shapes and structures by imprint or mould technique. I would like to use booger textile as a connection of human’s body to information.

Based on common usage of the material as fake parts of the body and decoration, we want to introduce new ways of relating material to the body by creating a second skin with it. This second skin can relate or enhance the actual shape of the body, but also modify it or make it mutant.
